The increasing cost of fuel had impacted the logistic industry. Any goods and services other than from their origin place needs to be transported. In agriculture this problem impacts the initial stages mainly in case of plant nursery. The cocopeat used in raising plant saplings is region specific in its production and needs to be transported from its origin place to destination. On the other hand, the coconut (raw material) required is getting costly and scarce. The duration taken for the production of the coco peat is also quite longer due to its lignin content. Hence, we made an attempt to address this problem and came with maize cobpeat which is a cost-effective solution and easy to access the demand in the cocopeat market. We are developing the planting media alternative to coco peat used in seedling nurseries. We are using maize cob shank as our raw material for it. We are now ready with our product and testing related to feasibility.
